Unlike the other six chakras, the seventh chakra is not a wheel; it’s a ring of energy, sitting almost like a monarch’s crown, on top of the head. Not surprisingly, it is sometimes referred to as the “crown chakra.” This energy center is your connection to the Divine. However you see that Source of All, this is your space of communion. When the seventh chakra is vibrating in a match with the Divine, you are vibrating in a state of knowing your own Spirit. If there is foreign energy in your seventh chakra, you may be uncomfortable presenting yourself fully to the world, hiding certain aspects of your personality from view.
Tame Your Inner Critic and Live Your Life On Purpose explores how to remove foreign energy from your seventh chakra, helping you to shine brightly, to stand in your own truth, and to become comfortable in your own skin. Being seen for who you really are, and sharing your personal light with the world, is the focus of your journey of discovery.
How the Endocrine System Works with the Chakras
The chakras and the physical body communicate through the endocrine, or glandular, system—which includes the adrenals, the reproductive glands, the pancreas, and others. Each gland produce hormones that act as chemical messengers that stimulate a physical response in the body. When we hold a tension or an emotion in a particular chakra, this tension is communicated to the body through the secretion of hormones. When the tension continues to be present over a period of time, we create a symptom on the physical level. We all know what heart ache feels like. I believe that when we feel this ache in the center of our chest, we are acknowledging on an energetic level a constriction in our heart chakra. We feel the emotional upheaval of sadness, pain and loss. Our heart center feels heavy and about to break. Our thoughts are full of what-ifs and why-did-this-have-to-happen. If we allow this emotional state to fester, we may develop dis-ease at the body level. In my personal experience, as I ground, consciously remove foreign energy from my space, and intend to fill myself in with self-affirming energies, the pain lessens.
Our experience of being who-we-really-truly-are—the thoughts and feelings that resonate and vibrate within us—is called our “life force.” This life-force energy permeates our whole being, radiating from the chakras and out to your physical body. By removing foreign energy from our chakras, we release the tension in our body, allowing our life force, our chi, to move freely, bringing balance and harmony to mind, body, and soul. When we imagine popping a Golden Sun and feel that energy course through our bodies and auras, we are actually filling in with more of our own life force energy.
