“Within you there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself. “ Hermann Hesse
I write my blog posts in the early morning hours. I find this is the best time of day for me to enter into my creative space and connect with my inner most thoughts and feelings.
This morning I’m sitting on my front porch, watching the sunrise and listening to the hummingbirds. It is peaceful, it is quiet and it is oh so serene. I am grateful for this time of stillness and contemplation. I say a blessing of appreciation and thankfulness for all that I am, all that I see, and all that will be today.
This time is my time. It’s my time to listen. To listen to nature and to listen to my heart. It doesn’t last long – maybe 20 minutes to half an hour. But it is enough. I do my daily meditation here, filling in with golden suns of my own life force. I ground to the earth and I reach for the cosmos. I come to a place of stillness, and as I breathe in and out, I breathe in the feeling state of gratitude.
All is well – exactly as it is right now – that is enough. As I exhale, I breathe out peace. I send this peaceful energy out into the world and intend for my day to be filled with ease and grace.
I call this meditative time setting my space. I begin my day this way because I know that whatever happens within the coming hours, just by remembering this moment, I can return to this same feeling state of peace and serenity.
As you start to slow down, as you start to let go of the outside world and go within, you will find yourself surrounded by silence and stillness. Not always, and not all the time, but often. This stillness is the entry way to your world of your soul. As you sit in meditation and dwell in this space of quiet, you will hear the whispers of your Spirit, your intuition. Pay Attention. Listen.
This is what I call the simple life. No matter what happens to me today, no matter how people react, or the news I hear of world events, I am in my own space of serenity.
I am the feeling state of simplicity. I am simply being me – that is enough.
