During this month of blog posts and the in-depth exercises and meditations presented in the newsletter, we are looking at the process of how to create a life of your dreams by following a specific step by step plan to claim your authentic life.
The first step is to get clear on what authenticity means to you. You’ve worked with your Be, Do, Have list and you’ve developed a mental image of what it means to live a life in alignment with who you truly are.
The second step is to claim this life for yourself. You’ve looked at the energy of havingness, being comfortable with your life right now while at the same time wanting more.
We know that when we create something, we always craft its energetic form first as a thought or idea. In the third step of manifesting a desired outcome, is the actual process of mocking up (making an energetic template) of your want or desire.
Before we move on to the fourth and final step in the process of manifesting a life of authenticity and purpose, I’d like to spend a little more time talking about the mock up process. Most often I get the question: “What about the how? It can’t be that I just sit and energetically think of what I want and it magically appears. What about the doing part of this?”
Stay Out of the How but Do the Work
You don’t need to know how the manifestation will come into your life. The mechanics of how your budget will stretch is not the point of the process. Just do the mock-up and be surprised by the how. You might receive an unexpected raise or bonus at work and spend it on remodeling your kitchen. Maybe your best friend introduces you to the person who becomes your life partner. You never know! There are all kinds of ways that your manifestation can show up, so do not set limits, and allow surprises.
With that said, you cannot just sit at home, wishing and hoping for a dream to be fulfilled. You must bring your intention and awareness to your desire. Set your intention, shout that message to the edges of the earth, and sit in certainty that it is coming your way. And then, do the legwork. If you want a new job, update your resumé, network, and apply for job postings. If you want a new bedroom set, then check out the furniture stores in your area and online, preparing for the day you will actually pay for and have the furniture delivered.
Don’t Mock Up the Money
Money is a tool; it flows like a river, in and out of your life. Mock up what you want to do with money. The money will be there to allow you to have your mock-up. Remember that feelings are the key to a successful mock-up. Think about your feelings around having money. Now think about your feelings around having a home. Feel the difference? The Universe can feel the difference too. Mock up your dream and the money will follow.
Specificity is Good
If you mock up a fantasy, you will be given a fantasy. In other words, base your mock-up in reality. Take it a step at a time. If you want to take a trip around the world, then be specific. Write down the countries that you want to visit and the sites that you want to see. Make it real, and the cosmos will respond. Mock up a trip without specifics and the Universe may bring you a dream about a trip around the world. Know the difference.
Mock It Up Once – Not Twice
This one is a hard one. Often we send out unconscious thoughts about what we want to be, do, or have. If you’ve ever stood in front of a store window, gazing at a new pair of shoes, and thought, “I want those,” that is an unconscious mock-up. Maybe the next day you look down at your friend’s feet and see another pair of shoes that you love, and you think to yourself, “I want those shoes instead!” You now have two unconscious mock-ups out there, competing with each other, wiping out the potential of actually moving your dream shoes into your reality.
Wait In Certainty
As you wait in certainty for your mock-up to come, work on your havingness space. It really is all about how you feel and whether you allow yourself the feeling of havingness. Check in to see if you feel unworthy or lacking in any way. An example would be wondering about the how. Remember to allow for flexibility in the execution of this mock-up.
If you find yourself second-guessing, re-doing, or adding more to your mock-up—stop! Relax and be in certainty. Put all those negative feelings and thoughts of lack into a rose and blow up the rose.
Mocking-Up Your Own Parking Karma
While you are waiting for your mock-up to come in, let us try another simple mock-up that will add some amusement to your day. A friend of mine has the best “luck” in finding great parking spaces. Every time the group of us goes out for lunch, we ask Laurel to drive because she always finds a parking space right in front of the restaurant.
How does she do it? She is in certainty. She knows, with all of her being, down to the tips of her toes, that there is an empty parking space with her name on it, just waiting for her to appear. Over the years, Laurel has had many experiences of driving into a parking lot just as the car in front of her was leaving a prime parking space. Now she just expects it. She intuitively knows that she will find a great place to park her car. She just knows it. She is certain. Therefore she does.
Be in this certainty about your mock-up. Visualize it coming to you. Know with every fiber of your being that it is yours. Just know, and like Laurel’s parking karma, it will be.
Try mocking up some parking karma of your own. As you get in your car to run some errands, sit in meditation for a moment. While you are buckling yourself in, ground yourself and your car. That is always a great idea. Next, see a mock-up bubble in front of you, ground it, set the intention that the bubble will fill with the colors of certainty. Visualize an open parking space right where you want it, when you want it. Be in certainty. See a golden light surround your mock-up bubble, unground the bubble, and shoot it to the edge of the planet. Open your eyes, come out of meditation, and know that good parking spaces are yours to have.
