Grounding Your Home

Because we are constantly broadcasting our thoughts and feelings out into the world, these thoughts travel outward and may embed in the aura of another person, affecting them in either a positive or negative way. Likewise, the energy, thoughts, feelings, judgments, and criticisms of another person can travel and have an effect on our aura. This is called foreign energy. Foreign energy is not “bad”— it is just different (foreign) from our own energy. With all these thoughts and feelings swirling around in our aura, some ours, some our neighbor’s, it can become very difficult to differentiate our hopes, wishes, and dreams from those around us.

The good news is that we have the ability to clean up and remove the foreign energies that have attached to our aura. Cleaning our aura may sound a little funny, yet we brush our teeth every day, removing the foreign particles (food and bacteria), leaving behind a fresh and clean mouth. The same is true of our aura. Cleaning our aura will remove the foreign energy, making room for our unique vibration of thoughts and feelings to shine.

You can ground any inanimate object.  You can ground your home, your car,  even your computer!  Refrain from grounding other people as that’s interfering with their own free will – their will to choose how they interact in the world.

To Ground Your Home

Imagine a big grounding cord around the full perimeter of your house.  If you live in an apartment, town home or condominium, imagine a grounding cord surrounding the full perimeter of your unit.  (If you choose, you may also place a second grounding cord on the full building as a gift to all your neighbors).  Intend for all foreign energy, energy that does not serve the highest and best interests of all inhabitants, to return to the earth.  Imagine all those energies draining out of your home and swooshing down the grounding cord.

Now imagine filling your home with the colors and energies that would be most beneficial to your health and vitality.  Maybe you envision some rose pink representing peace and tranquility filling each room of your home.  Or maybe you envision some harmony energy taking up residence in your daughter’s bedroom.  Use your imagination to fill your home with the colors  and energies that you choose.  Have fun with this.  You can change the colors every day if you so choose.  Add some lightness and playfulness to your space.  There is no right or wrong here, no “shoulds” of how this needs to be done, just your way.  Choose the colors and energies that sound pleasing to you.

As you do this, you will find that the energies that are not in alignment with your intentions will dissipate.  They will move down your home’s grounding cord, returning to Mother Earth.  No need for fancy healing rituals or smudging with sage (unless you want to do this just for added fun).  Energy moves as we bring our awareness to it.  There’s no need for drama or fear. In fact, if we are in fear or panic, we will attract more of those energies.  So stay neutral, stay out of effort and make this a pleasurable experience.

As a last step, you may choose to imagine a big bubble of energy surrounding your whole house.  The bubble encompasses the full house, your garden, your landscaping and the ground beneath your home.  See this bubble meeting up with the grounding cord, allowing all foreign energies to drain down to the earth.  (If you are having a hard time picturing this, then imagine your home inside of a snow globe of protection).  The purpose of this bubble of energy is to prevent foreign energy, energy that is not in your highest and best interest, from entering your home. Imagine energy coming in contact with this protective bubble and then just going “poof” in front of your eyes.  Intend for this bubble to stay in place throughout your day or week.  You might want to check in with it every once in a while and if it needs refreshing, then just reset it.

That’s it!  No need for drama or high production.  Energy moves as we become aware of it and as we intend to move it.  So have some fun with this and let me know if the energy of your home shifts in any way.
