In the previous post, I introduced you to your heart traits – messages from your Spirit about your unique nature and beauty. As we move through our Chakra Clearing for Prosperity program, an important step is living an authentic life. It’s about allowing your truth – your heart traits – your messages from Spirit – to be the driving force in how you live your life.
This ability to stand in our own truth, being comfortable in our own skin, is the melody in the symphony of living our lives in joy and inner peace. We’ve started this process in the last post with developing our list of heart traits. Now let’s move on to crafting those heart traits into a statement about who we truly are.
Create Your Statement of Being: Your Life’s Intention
Journalist Clare Boothe Luce reportedly asked John F. Kennedy, “A great man is one sentence. Abraham Lincoln’s was ‘He preserved the Union and freed the slaves.’ What’s yours?” You have a descriptive sentence too. In fact, I like to think in terms of a full paragraph because life is too robust to capture it all in one phrase. You have already done all the legwork, you just need to put pen to paper.
Return to your heart traits list. We are going to fashion that list into a statement of being. Personally, I don’t make New Year’s resolutions; instead, I recreate my Statement of Being every year on New Year’s Day. I have found that most people state their New Year’s resolutions in a negative form. Maybe that’s why resolutions never come to pass.
So instead, come from the positive, from a position of feeling your emotion instead of a should. For example, in forming a resolution you might say to yourself, “Yuck. I don’t like my body. I need to lose weight. My New Year’s resolution is to drop fifteen pounds by March.” Notice how that is a negative statement. You are in a state of resistance to your current weight and therefore not accepting your present-moment body. You might not be the ideal weight for your body frame, but until you can accept all of you, including that roly-poly tummy or those thunder thighs, you will be in a state of resistance, a state of lack.
In addition, whatever you believe about yourself is reflected back to you and becomes your reality. If you believe you’re fat or that you need to lose fifteen pounds before you look good, you will attract that same frequency—“FAT”—back toward you. It’s as if a giant magnet were inside your space, attracting events and circumstances that are in direct correlation to your thoughts and feelings. Whether you experience love, fear, anger, happiness, or joy, what you think and feel, you will be.
I don’t think in terms of lack or resolutions. Instead, I choose terms more reflective of who I am in this present moment. My current statement of being goes something like this:
I consciously create my reality every day with my thoughts and feelings. Therefore, each day I am grateful for all that life brings my way. I live in a state of appreciation for all that I have. I am happy, content, excited, joyful, kind, and generous. I give freely because I know that there is more than enough for all of us. I love deeply and listen intently. I am present in the here and now. I live in a state of gratitude and peace, knowing that these feelings of goodwill and kindness are mirrored back to me in awe-filled ways that I cannot even imagine right now. I am open and ready to receive. I can have all of this and MORE.
Notice how my statement of being is all about my thoughts and feelings. It is really a paragraph listing my heart traits in a little bit more detail. Most people believe that action is the most important part of creating the world they desire. They are all about do-ing: being active in making the life they want. People work hard, struggle through their daily tasks believing that by physically doing something, they will attain what they desire. They have it backwards; it is really more important to think and feel it into being.
Remember, you really are the creator of your own reality. Everything that is coming to you is a direct result of your thoughts, feelings, and internal dialogue. You can be happy or sad, angry or not angry. You get to choose. Every minute is a new opportunity to decide your own reality. Change your thoughts and feelings and watch what happens to your reality.
Write Your Statement of Being
Look over your list of Heart traits and know that these traits are true representations of you, of your Highest and Best Self. Reflect upon the qualities that represent your uniqueness, your gifts to the world. Come from a positive space. Be aware that every person, deep down at their core, has a special gift to share with the world.
Close your eyes and feel deep into your heart space. Consider the qualities, the energies, that are swirling around in your heart. Maybe you are sensing the quality of kindness, or creativity, or joy and lightheartedness. Craft those thoughts and feelings into a statement of being that reflects who you really are in this present moment. As you’re writing, use the present tense and truly own the qualities that make you unique and special.
Read your statement of being aloud as you feel it resonate in truth throughout your body and your aura. Yes, this is truly who you really are. Living a life of prosperity and joy truly means walking your talk and being in alignment with your highest and best self. This is what speaking and living authentically means and this is the key to opening up your fifth chakra.
