Chakra means wheel of light in Sanskrit. There are seven major chakras or power points in the human body. Their purpose is to circulate life force energy (chi or prana) through your body and your aura. If the one or more of the chakras are unbalanced it can affect physical and mental health. This month and next we are working each of the chakras, bringing them into a harmonic. As they become aligned, life force circulates more freely, allowing us to live in a state of prosperity.
The fourth chakra is located near the center of the breastbone and is known as the heart chakra. It is associated with the heart, thymus gland, lower lung and circulatory system. It acts as the bridge between the lower three chakras governing the physical body and the upper three chakras governing the spiritual body.
A balanced heart chakra is expressed in acceptance of self and others. The work we undertake in the book, Tame Your Inner Critic Live Your Life On Purpose, deals with finding your own true north – that path in life uniquely tailored for you, no one else. Most often our path is hidden by what I call foreign energy – the thoughts and feelings, judgments, criticisms and expectations of others – that keeps us from knowing our own truth.
Our inner critic is the voice of this foreign energy.
As we clean up and tame our inner critic, we remove the static, the noise, so that we may hear our own true Spirit, our Highest and Best Self. This is the voice that guides us along our life’s path, leading us to our purpose, and helping us live a life of prosperity and peace.
As this chakra opens, inner peace takes root and grows. We learn to come from a space of “affinity”, being in alignment with our deepest hopes and dreams, our Soul’s quest for joy and harmony. We are whole within ourselves. We recognize that we are an integral part of the universe, but we do not cling to others or grasp after what we do not have. Love of the fourth chakra is not the love of need or desire; it’s a deep peace that comes from lack of need, and a radiating quality that comes from harmony within oneself. The balanced heart is receptive – it may reach out in love, but this reaching is of a radiating quality, never leaving its own center from which it derives its energy.
We are satisfied. We are content. We are at peace.
This doesn’t mean that we give up reaching for more. It means that the craving, the envy, the jealousy, of grasping is not present. We reach with hands cupped open to receive, not fingers splayed in longing. We radiate in a vibration of love because we have created a coherent center within ourselves. Other people we come in contact with feel this radiating vibration of peace, contentment and prosperity and choose to match it, creating a symphony of connected and harmonious notes.
We are the conductor of the symphony of prosperity. As we are, so will others be.
